The era of remote learning has arrived, ushered in courtesy of 2020. As a result of COVID-19, the ways in which districts conceive and deliver instruction have been permanently altered.

Since March, educational leaders have consistently risen to the challenges. At warp speed, they have been problem-solving around a myriad of issues including:

  • The digital divide
  • Inequitable access to the virtual classroom
  • Meeting the needs of diverse learners online
  • Preparing teachers to create effective virtual classrooms
  • Addressing the health concerns of staff, students, and parents
  • Handling COVID-related trauma/stress of teachers, students, and families.

Educational leaders have expertly navigated these first critical months of the pandemic, but the need for them to equip their schools for the future still exists. Far from being a short-term band-aid for pandemic-mediated realities, remote and hybrid instructional models are here to stay. As we look toward the future, educational leaders need frameworks and tools to pivot out of crisis mode and toward proactive planning.

While the issues at hand are weighty, within each of these problems resides an opportunity for growth. CyberReef and Carahsoft recognized the need to offer leaders and IT managers some much needed support — a collective space where leaders can survey the new landscape and offer schools hope for the 2020-21 school year and beyond.

Webinar hosts Education Elements CEO Anthony Kim and CyberReef CEO Hilton Nicholson offer insights — each tackling a different facet of the new reality leaders must navigate. Bestselling author and researcher Anthony Kim is no stranger to the challenges that remote learning entails. The online schools begun by Education Elements consistently foreground personalized learning and create environments where teachers act as architects of student-centered curricula.

As this webinar’s keynote, Anthony draws upon both his experience and the collective wisdom of 1,000 schools he’s researched. School leaders and IT managers will leave this webinar with a better understanding of:

  • Just how critical the need for technological access remains
  • The knowledge and new skills that will help schools thrive in this new educational era
  • How schools can change expectations and proactively prepare for the future

Hilton Nicholson understands the need for students to have internet access that is safe and reliable. In 2012, he founded CyberReef, and since then, under his leadership, CyberReef has provided Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) filtering to many schools nationwide. CIPA-compliant filtering protects students by blocking access to harmful or obscene material. Hilton shares how schools can obtain CIPA-compliant filtering and keep their students safe in the virtual classroom.

Superintendents, school leaders, and IT managers, join us for this highly informative and hopeful webinar so that you can lead your schools into the future.
